10x10 #5 - Simplify the Learning Process

It doesn't matter how old you are, what your starting point is, what the content is or what the assessment objectives are, learning is a process. If you can clarify that process for people, help them see the importance of each phase, then it becomes manageable, transferable and hopefully even enjoyable. The best simplification of the learning process I've seen or heard so far comes from Simon Breakspear and it goes like this: collect, order, connect, embed, apply.

Learning happens best when teachers see learning through the eyes of the student and the student sees themselves as their own teacher.
